Bangalore Palace

Bangalore Palace, look like a smaller replica of the windsorcastle, england.
....built by Rev. Garrett in between 1862 and 1944.
Now owned by , Srikanta Datta Narsimharaja Wadiyar of Mysore Royal family.
The ground floor consists of an open courtyard , like my home, HAVELI and a ballroom .
In the first floor , there is an elaborate hall ...Durbar Hall ....the king used to address the assembly. The walls are adorned with paintings . There is a massive elephant head mounted in the wall.
Some paintings of Raja Ravi Verma are also present .
Our guide said , pointing at most of the semi nude and nude pictures, that all were presented by western dignitaries and guests to the king.
AFTER OUR OFFICIAL MEETING AT VIDHAN SOUDHA , me and my UNDER SECRETARY, MR.Jagannathan Nair, was here....on fool's day of 2010.

the keeper told that Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar , who is also living in a part of this palace, decided to open the palace to the public to meet the cost of preserving the huge palace.

but the Entry Fee is Rs.200/- for Indians and Rs.500/- for Foreign Toursits..
for Video Recording U need to pay Rs: 1,000 and for photography Rs 500.

BEAUTY of the river "KAUVERI"

to see this beauty of "The Niagra of India" .
I am here at......
HOGENEKKAL, the famous waterfall in Tamilnadu ,

sorry...
I can't say it is in Tamil nadu... karnataka's claim is that it belongs to them..Hogennakal stands in the border of Tamilnadu and Karnataka...

Mr.Jagannathan nair, my Under Secretary and me here on 2nd april 2010..
way back to trivandrum ...after some official purpose at BENGALOORU...

here to enjoy the exciting cute basket boat trip in Kavery..

The best time here is just after the monsoon , when the water falls are in its full strength.

It was very hot now... may be around 12 in the noon..

language is always a problem...
already had some bad experiences at north east, and also in dilli..

WE, now ready to bargain with the corackal boatmen.
some one said that charge per head is Rs.50/-.. boatmen says we can accomodate upto 8 people..but he should get Rs.400/-
whether we are 2 or 6.. we should pay rs.400/-
but the ride is worth the money…

boatman took us for a 1 hour trip.
first,, just a 2 minute journey in the middle of trees..
then there is a boarding place..
boatmen wil carry the boat through the road ,, about 100 metres..
wil wait for us..

If U R ready U can have, body massage ....
...in between that ride ... local people will fry fresh fish and you can have it there.

after the Thekkady Mishap.. first time in a kuttavanchi..not even the usual boat ....but a small kuttavanchi..

boat men said , though it is summer now, water level may b 30-50 fts..

My heart was pounding hard.... thought abt, my mol n her mamma..

he said...
they are trained people.
they have to row the boats through harsh river currents and save 3, (3 or 5 am not sure) drowning people alone from the river to acquire their licence as boat men...!

any way WE R now back in the shore safely...
