Koonthankulam Birds Sanctuary ,a unique sanctuary ,protected and managed by Koonthakulam village community. breeding water bird reserve in south India attracts more than one lakh birds annually. ...located 25 kms away from Nanguneri in tirunelveli dt. it is said that anybody troubling the nests are punished in their own methods of shaving the head, or making the procession on donkey.
Barheaded Goose, Night Heron...also Painted Stork,....told thy names by V C jose, I don't know.
V.C.Joseis my friend, no enemy, ... hearing his exaggerated commentry... we, ie., Jafer, N, Ajayan and me with this "Cinema Premi" , we visited here on feb 28, 2010. .
a long trip from 6 am to 9.30 pm... away from TVM CITY which is celebrating ATTUKAL PONKALA...
it is also told by him that , every year birds visit here, regularly in the month of January/February and used to vacate in the month of July/August.
A watch tower and a childerns park is there.
temple of Lord krishna , there is under renovation.. it is said that Crackers were not used in the temple as birds will fly awy hearing the sound..
